Shoes!

Shoes, a subject that is very dear to many peoples hearts. However as I am now retired and don’t go out a great deal I mostly live in slippers. I do have proper shoes, black leather, which I use when I go out but I prefer sandals when the weather is warmer.

My shoes then, how do I look after them? As I don’t wear them often and generally not outdoors in muddy conditions they don’t get very dirty so a quick wipe over with my heritage impregnated sponge is all that is required. If they did get muddy then I would need to get that off first. I recommend letting it dry and then brushing it off. I do not suggest you wash the mud off as that may damage the finish. However, if you do wash mud off then it is most important that your leather is absolutely, totally dry before you apply polish.

When you need to apply your Heritage, do it in the usual way i.e.wipe your sponge that is provided or a clean, dry cloth over the surface of your polish, remove any surplus by wiping across the inside edge of your tub and then apply very sparingly in circular motions on your leather shoes. You should not need to buff up. That is it. Job done. Quick and easy and because it is so easy it means that you can clean your shoes without taking them off your feet if necessary. It is also worth mentioning that Heritage Leathercare is colourless so can be used on any colour.
So how can you get hold of Heritage Leathercare. Again that is easy. To buy it online visit  http://www.heritageleathercare.co.uk/buy-leathercare/ Should you prefer you can get it by post, just send your order and payment, not forgetting the delivery address to DCK Services, (heritage Leathercare), The Technocentre, Puma Way, Coventry, CV1 2TT  We have now also sorted out taking orders by telephone. How to clean and condition your leather furniture

If you have read my previous blogs you will know about Heritage Leathercare – who makes it, where, how to use it. etc. I now able now start to tell you where you can use it.However,, before I do that, I think I ought to tell you about the brand “Celtic Leathercare” There are some parts of the world where we are unable to use the brand “Heritage Leathercare” so in those areas the Brand “Celtic” is used. It is the same product but just branded differently so, if you do receive a product labelled “Celtic” don’t worry, you are still receiving the Heritage that you ordered.

Now, where to use your Heritage. The first item I will talk about is your leather furniture. Leather is very hard wearing and is ideal for use in almost any setting which makes it great for families or where there are pets although in this case you do have to ensure that the furniture doesn’t get major scratches – your Heritage will however cover minor scratches  Now You may need to dust the furniture before using your Heritage. Don’t worry if the furniture has areas of light grime as your Heritage will clean most colours. For white, cream  and similar light colours, you may need to wash your furniture first. I will tell you more about how to do this in another future post.
Having prepared your leather take your tub of Heritage, wipe across the surface of the polish with the sponge that is supplied or any soft, clean and dry cloth if you prefer. Then remove any surplus by wiping your sponge or cloth across the inside of the tub. All you do now  is wipe in circular motions. using your Heritage Leathercare very sparingly. There should be no need to buff up your leather unless it is  greasy. If it is you have used too much and will need to buff it up using a clean and dry cloth. And that is the job done
We recommend you polish your furniture about 3 to 4 times per year. If, however, your leather is backing on to a radiator or is in direct sun, you will need to use your Heritage more often to prevent your leather drying out and cracking.

I have bought my Heritage Leathercare but where can I use it?

If you have read my recent posts you now know about Heritage Leathercare – who makes it, where it is made, how to use it, etc. Another thing I ought to tell you is the sizes. Heritage Leathercare comes in two sizes, 250ml and 500ml

You can buy Heritage Leathecare online, visit  www.heritageleathercare.co.uk/ For your information you can also buy Heritage Woodcare online, visit www.heritagewoodcare.co.uk I try to process all orders within 24 – 48 hours but there are circumstances such as illness or when I am out of the office , when this may not be possible.

Now, where can you use your Heritage Leathercare? It is absolutely great on leather furniture and car upholstery and, for those of my readers fortunate to own the more exotic forms of transport, boats, aeroplanes, helicopters, etc fitted with leather upholstery, again it is brilliant. It may  also be worth mentioning that Heritage Leathercare is used  regularly by many vintage vehicle enthusiasts who take great pride in a well turned out vehicle. Just to complete the p[cture, Heritage Leathercare is colourless so can be used on any colour.

So, use it on leather upholstery, but you can also use it on leather clothing, trousers, skirts and leather coats. It is also ideal for footwear, shoes, boots, sports boots such as football boots, etc. And for the fashion boots that reach up your legs it can’t be beaten as they are so difficult to look after  but with Heritage it is so easy.

Another area where you can use it is on wooden furniture but you do need to buff them up!

So that has told you some areas where you can use your Heritage Leathercare. In my next post I will tell you how to use it.

Heritage Leathercare, now you know!

Since I have restarted blogging I have been giving  you a brief outline of Heritage Leathercare. So, just what is Heritage Leathercare and what makes it so special?  How do you use it?

Heritage Leathercare should be used very sparingly so, using the sponge provided you simply wipe it across the surface of your leathercare and then remove the surplus by wiping your loaded sponge across the inside edge of your tub. All you do now is apply the product by wiping in circular motions until you have covered all the leather.

The results are instantaneous. On touching your leather it should not be greasy. If it is you have used too much and will need to buff it up using a clean dry, soft, lint free cloth. And that is it, job done!

Heritage Leathercare is, as I have said, made in Dublin by Drigate Products (Mfg)  Ltd  which is a  family owned  company.   Heritage Leathercare , like it’s sister product Heritage Woodcare,  is based on a Victorian craftsman’s recipe containing old fashioned ingredients which have been tried and tested over the many years that has now been updated, using modern technology, to enable it to cope with 21st century developments.

Have you tried our sister product Heritage Woodcare? It takes off all the buildup of grease and grime  and, at the same time will remove most ring marks, heat marks and water marks. Check it out at www.heritagewoodcare.co.uk

Even more about Heritage Leathercare

I need to tell you  more about Heritage Leathercare.Where is it made?  Well, it is. made by Drigate Products (Mfg)  Ltd which is a  family owned  company based in Dublin),   Heritage Leathercare (just like it’s sister product Heritage Woodcare)  is based on Victorian craftsman’s recipes containing old fashioned tried and tested ingredients that has been updated, using modern technology, to enable it to cope with 21st century products..

So jwhat is Heritage Leathercare? It is a traditional 19th century leather balsam containing original, old fashioned ingredients (including beeswax). These are well known in the trade for protecting and revitalising leather and also the stitching. Many craftspeople and professionals will vouch for its tried and tested formula. The results obtained with Heritage Leathercare are instantaneous and long lasting and, whilst newer leather products benefit from a shine and protection unsurpassed by modern polishes not containing our ingredients older, tired leather is left revitalised and more supple! Heritage Leathercare is generally regarded as one of the most economical on the market in this day and age

Before using your Heritage Leathercare on your leather products make sure they are prepared – dusting/washing, etc.  You don’t  necessarily need to clean the leather unless it is heavily soiled e.g. shoes caked in mud. etc. If this is the case, remove the soiling – in the case of mud, allow it to dry and then scrape it off being careful not to damage the leather.

Heritage Leathercare is really easy to use. You simply take the sponge that was supplied with your order and wipe it across the surface of your leathercare. You then scrape the loaded sponge across the inside edge of your tub in order to remove any surplus polish. Now you are ready!

Heritage Leathercare – contact me, where to use it, etc.

yHaving read my recent posts you now know about Heritage Leathercare – who makes it, where it is made, how to use it, etc.and some suggestions of what to use it on. I have told you where you can purchase it but it might be helpful if I gave you my contact details. You can reach me by phone on 07967 139636 but please do this during office hours ie 9.00am to 5.00pm. One other thing to tell you is the sizes. Heritage Woodcare comes in three sizes, 500ml, 1itre, and 2 litre
Now, having told you what I think is the basics, where do you use it. Well, it is really great on wood floors – natural woods and laminates. I do know about using it  on using it on wood floors as in my own home the hall and lounge do have oak parquet floors, These were covered in carpets when we moved in and when I took this up  intending to replace it I revealed this wonderful parquet floor. It took a great deal of cleaning and to complete the job I used green scotchbrite scouring pads soaked in Heritage Woodcare to scrub the floor. In the process of scrubbing the floor I noticed that the black marks caused by bitumen oozing up between the tiles were also removed.
After scrubbing, the floor required some restoration as some of the tiles were missing (that is how I I found out the floor was oak!)  Now all I do is mop the floor using Heritage Woodcare about once every six weeks and sweep between mopping .I did say Heritage Woodcare is easy to use!
Also don’t forget to use your Heritage on your wood furniture. As I say, it is easy to use and will clean and polish your furniture at the same time and, unlike wax polishes, it will not leave any buildup no matter how often you use it. Indeed, Heritage Woodcare removes the buildup caused by silicones, waxes, grease and grime.

Heritage Leathercare for 2016

New year, new start.  I thought then that would begin my 2016 blogs by taking a look at what Heritage Leathercare is. It is madeby Drigate Products (Mfg)  Ltd which is a family owned  firm based in Dublin.   Heritage Leathercare is (like it’s sister product Heritage Woodcare) based on Victorian craftsmans recipes containing old fashioned tried and tested ingredients. It has however.been updated, using modern technology, to enable it to cope with 21st century developments. So what is it? Heritage Leathercare is a traditional 19th century leather balsam containing original, old fashioned ingredients including beeswax. These are well known in the trade for protecting and revitalising the leather used in leathercraft (and indeed the stitching). Sunshine and my leather seats in my car

Following on from my post of 21st July when I talked about leather upholstery in cars, boats, etc I have had an email from a reader who is concerned about the effect that all the glorious sunshine and hot temperatures we are having at the moment is having on his leather car seats. I was able to reassure him that with proper care, his worries were groundless. Yes, direct sunshine and the heat that builds up in cars can have a detremental effect on his upholstery but regular applications of leather treatments will prevent drying out and fading and obviously there is nothing better or easier than Heritage Leathercare.

You use it in the usual way ie take your sponge or soft, clean and dry cloth, wipe it across the surface of your Heritage and remove any surplus by scraping your loaded sponge / cloth across the inside of of your tub and then apply in circular motions on your leather being careful not to put too much on. I also suggest that you wait till the leather has cooled, Hot leather melts your Heritage so that it is more difficult to make a good job. If your car is out in the sun for long periods I would suggest that instead of applying your Heritage 4 0r 5 times per year you apply it more often, at least 6 times per year.

Buying your Heritage Leathercare is easy. Visit www.heritageleathercare.co.ukbuy-leathercare if you are happy buying online. You can also buy it by post, just send your order, delivery address and payment to DCK SERVICES, The Technocentre, Puma Way, Coventry, CV1 2TT You can also order by phone, ring 07967 139636

Might I also do a plug for the sister product, Heritage Woodcare. It is just the best. Check it out at www.heritagewoodcare.co.uk
