Heritage Leathercare – contact me, where to use it, etc.

yHaving read my recent posts you now know about Heritage Leathercare – who makes it, where it is made, how to use it, etc.and some suggestions of what to use it on. I have told you where you can purchase it but it might be helpful if I gave you my contact details. You can reach me by phone on 07967 139636 but please do this during office hours ie 9.00am to 5.00pm. You can also email me at jim@heritagepolish.com For those of you who prefer post, my address is DCK Services (Heritage Polish), The Technocentre, Puma Way, Coventry, CV1 2TT  Please note, The Technocentre is part of Coventry University so you cannot purchase products there.
One other thing to tell you is the sizes. Heritage Woodcare comes in three sizes, 500ml, 1itre, and 2 litre
Now, having told you what I think is the basics, where do you use it. Well, it is really great on wood floors – natural woods and laminates. I do know about using it  on using it on wood floors as in my own home the hall and lounge do have oak parquet floors, These were covered in carpets when we moved in and when I took this up  intending to replace it I revealed this wonderful parquet floor. It took a great deal of cleaning and to complete the job I used green scotchbrite scouring pads soaked in Heritage Woodcare to scrub the floor. In the process of scrubbing the floor I noticed that the black marks caused by bitumen oozing up between the tiles were also removed.
After scrubbing, the floor required some restoration as some of the tiles were missing (that is how I I found out the floor was oak!)  Now all I do is mop the floor using Heritage Woodcare about once every six weeks and sweep between mopping .I did say Heritage Woodcare is easy to use!
Also don’t forget to use your Heritage on your wood furniture. As I say, it is easy to use and will clean and polish your furniture at the same time and, unlike wax polishes, it will not leave any buildup no matter how often you use it. Indeed, Heritage Woodcare removes the buildup caused by silicones, waxes, grease and grime.

Heritage Leathercare – a Victorian solution to a modern problem

In my recent posts I have given  you a brief outline of Heritage Leathercare. So, just what is Heritage Leathercare and what makes it so special?  How do you use it?

Heritage Leathercare is made in Dublin by Drigate Products (Mfg)  Ltd  which is a  family owned  company.   Heritage Leathercare , like it’s sister product Heritage Woodcare,  is based on a Victorian craftsman’s recipe containing old fashioned tried and tested ingredients and has been updated, using modern technology, to enable it to cope with 21st century developments. Heritage Leathercarecare is only one example of their approach to only bring the very best products to your attention.

It is really easy to use  so how then do you use it?  You simply take the sponge that  is usually supplied with your order and wipe it across the surface of your leathercare. You then scrape the loaded sponge across the inside edge of your tub in order to remove any surplus polish,  you are now ready!

Before using your Heritage Leathercare on your leather products make sure they are prepared, perhaps by dusting, etc. if necessary. Youprobably won;t need to clean your leather unless it is heavily soiled e.g. shoes caked in mud. etc. If this is the case, remove the soiling – in the case of mud, allow it to dry and then brush it off being careful not to damage the leather.

Now all you need do is wipe in circular motions. using your Leathercare very sparingly. There should be no need to buff up your leather unless it is  greasy. If it is you have used too much and will need to buff it up using a clean and dry cloth.

Using Heritage Leathercare on clothing – jackerts, trousers and skirts

I have now told you about using your Heritage Leathercare on your leather furniture. Now I will tell you about using it on leather clothing – leather jackets, leather trousers and leather skirts. Incidentally I was exhibiting at a show (possibly at one of the shows I did in London) when a young lady came up to me and asked if Heritage Leathercare could be used on her leather underwear. Well, apart from being slightly taken aback, I didn’t know they made leather underwear, did you? The answer of course is “yes” So, you can also use it on your leather underwear.

As long as your item of clothing is not suede, nubuck or nappa leather you are ok to use your Heritage. do the preparations in the usual way I,e, take your tub of Heritage, take any soft, clean and dry cloth or the sponge that is provided and wipe across the surface of the polish. Then wipe across the inside of the tub so that you remove and surplus. You are now ready.

All you do now is wipe, ensuring all the surface of the item of clothing is treated. don’t forget Heritage Leathercare is colourless so can be used on any colour although for white, cream  and similar light colours, you may need to wash your clothing before treating it with your Heritage. I will tell you more about how to do this in another future post.

That is the job done.

I have been busy haven’t I. I have now told you all about the changes that have happened and my packaging process in addition to telling you about Heritage Leathercare and who makes it. Now I really ought to tell you how to use it.

Heritage Leathercare – who makes it and what is it

Well I have now  told  you about the changes and how I am trying to keep my costs down, I  now feel  I ought to tell you about Heritage Leathercare – who makes it  and what it is.  .

.Heritage Leathercarecare is made in Dublin by Drigate Products (Mfg)Ltd,which is  a  family owned company based in Dublin. They have a commitment to manufacturing and supplying quality, traditional cleaning and nurturing products that look after your wood and leather.. Heritage Woodcare and Heritage Leathercare are both. based on Victorian craftsman’s recipes containing old fashioned tried and tested ingredients which have been updated, using modern technology, to cope with 21st century developments. Heritage Leathercare is  an example of their approach to bringing the very best products to your attention.

Heritage Leathercare is only one of their  product based as I have said on a tried and tested recipe that is centuries old and was known only by the grand masters of the furniture crafts. The competition for perfection in the cleaning, polishing, and preservation of wooden furniture between these rival grandmasters can still be seen today when looking at many priceless antiques. In order, to get the desired results, these grandmasters would spend hours, sometimes days, working on a single  item .Few people today have the time, or the patience, of these grandmasters, so after much research, and backed up by modern technology, this centuries old recipe has been updated to produce Heritageleathercare. which gives the same outstanding results.. Heritage Leathercare is very easy to use and gives an instant, amazing finish. .In future blogs I will tell you more about it..

Heritage  Leathercare  and it’s sister produc Heritaget Woodcare can both be bought online..For  Heritage Leathercare visit www.heritageleathercare.co.uk and for Heritage Woodcare visit www.heritagewoodcare.co.uk

More information about Heritage Leathercare and Heritage Woodcare

Hello, it is me again! Now that I have returned to blogging and as my last post was about keeping costs down and  catching   up with changes I thought I ought to share with my readers, how I try to  keep my costs down and  avoid having to pass the ever increasing costs on.

In my last post I told you that all my parcels are double wrapped in bubble wrap and then double bagged. This is partly as protection but also to comply with postal terms and conditions.  What I didn’t say is that all my bubble wrap and most of my bags come from local supermarkets. This helps them as they do not have to pay to have it taken away and helps me as it is comes free. Also all the cardboard I use also comes from the same source and has the same advantages. So, apart from my time, my materials come free which means I keep my costs and my prices  as low as I can

Therefore when you  place your order  (for Heritage Woodcare from www.heritagepolish.com/wood.html  or     http://www.heritagewoodcare.co.uk/products-page/ and  for Heritage   Leathercare from www .heritagepolish.com/leather.html or http://www.heritageleathercare.co.uk/buy-leathercare/ ) please remember how I try to keep my prices as low as I can.

Posting again – Heritage Woodcare and Heritage Leathercare

Well,  here I am posting again. I know it  has been some time since I last posted but I’m now back!. So what’s changed in my absence?

Well, I think the major change has been in the postal system and this has caused me some problems The first change to mention is charges. Due to the recent increase in postage I have had to make some changes to avoid passing these increases on .Firstly  I now use second class post for 500ml Woodcare and 250/500 ml Leathercare. For all other sizes I now use a courier – Hermes. This means deliveries can now take up to 3-4 working days after posting.

A second change is that I can no longer post more than 500 mls Woodcare outside the UK For that matter Royal Mail will now  only accept up to 500 mls. to post within the UK but I had already accommodated that change by using Hermes

All parcels sent by post and Hermes are double wrapped in bubble wrap and then double bagged. Hermes deliveries are also double boxed.

Might I remind you that you can order online. Heritage Woodcare  can be ordered either at  www.heritagepolish.com/wood.html  or www.heritagewoodcare.co.uk/product and Heritage Leathercare   at www.heritagepolish.com/leather.html or www.heritageleathercare.co.uk/buy-leathercare

Using Heritage Leathercare on your shoes

The weather seems to be getting much colder at the moment with some parts of the country having snow. Have you got any snow yet? I know it can look pretty and kids (“big” and small) can have a great deal of fun but I am very conscious that snow can cause a lot of problems.

Don’t forget that Heritage Leathercare can help to keep your shoes water resistant and in this weather that can be important. Heritage Leathercare is colourless so can be used on all colours and will also clean and polish most colours. It is also very easy to use.

We have just returned from a short break in N.Wales. We had a great time, made more special because a friend whom we haven’t seen for years lives only a few miles up the road from where we stayed. When we phoned him and told him what we were up to, his first comment was to ask us to dinner that night!.

We were staying not far from Prestatyn and there is a shopping outlet there. Fellas, we know what that means, don’t we! We left with bulging shopping bags and lighter wallets. My wife was happier though as she now has an outfit for the wedding we are going to later this year. We also visited Swallow Falls at Betws-y-coed. It was a great day with bright sunshine. Did you know, there are 109 steps from the top to the bottom (and, of course 109 bigger, wider, deeper steps back to the top!)

There was only one real problem during the  few days we were away. That was the accomodation. The bed was a very small double and the seating in the lounge was the most uncomfortable I have come across. The owners of the proprty we were staying in told us they had only just bought it and were slowly renovating it. They showed us an area that had been renovated and, although it was cleaner and brighter, much of what I felt about the part where we were still applied. The owners could really have benefitted from the services of an interior design expert such as Jane Yates from Sweet Lime Interior Design. Jane would have listened to what both the owners and customers  had to say before coming up with her recommendations and that is what the property needs.

Jane really knows her subject and has helped many people in both commercial and domestic settings. Check out her website at www.sweetlimedesign.co.uk  She tells you about herself and gives examples of what she has done with testimonials from satisfied clients. Her website also incorporates her blog which explains lots more about Interior Design giving lots of examples. Check out the website – it’s well worth it.

Heritage (Celtic) Leathercare

I am still receiving numerous requests for information and felt now was the time to start from the basics and review all the information available.

Heritage Leathercare (also sometimes known as Celtic Leathercare) is an Irish product with a difference! Have you tried it yet? Do you know how good it is? – that it is probably the best? Do you know that it is very easy to use? Do you know you can use it on your leather furniture, leather car seats and interiors, leather clothing and footwear, etc. ?

In this post I will tell you something about it.Made in their Dublin facility by Drigate Products, Heritage Leathercare is a traditional 19th century leather balsam containing original, old fashioned ingredients including beeswax. These are well known in the trade for protecting and revitalising the leather used in leathercraft (and indeed the stitching). Many craftspeople and professionals will vouch for its tried and tested formula.

The results obtained with Heritage Leathercare are instantaneous and long lasting and, whilst newer leather products benefit from a shine and protection unsurpassed by modern polishes not containing our ingredients older, tired leather is left revitalised and more supple! Heritage Leathercare is generally regarded as one of the most economical on the market in this day and age.
